1. THE GAP

Tinubu landed in Lagos from Windsor with a £746 million ports deal signed, the same week Borno troops repelled a drone-supported ISWAP assault at Mallam Fatori and a senator reported frontline forces lacked adequate equipment.

2. THIRTY DAYS, NO CHARGE

El-Rufai reached 30 days in ICPC custody without arraignment, as the Court of Appeal overturned a Kaduna ruling that had blocked his right to challenge the State Assembly's indictment against him.

3. YOUR EID TRANSPORT COST MORE THIS YEAR

Petrol sat at N1,300 per litre on Eid morning as Dangote's March 10 gantry price cut to N1,075 went largely unpassed to consumers, while the government's budget assumed oil at $64.85 against a market rate above $102.

4. THE $15,000 QUESTION

The US announced a refundable bond of up to $15,000 for Nigerian B1/B2 visa applicants, effective April 2, on top of the partial immigrant visa suspension already in force since January 1.

5. MALLAM FATORI HELD

Nigerian troops killed 61 ISWAP fighters and three named commanders at Mallam Fatori in a drone-supported ground assault on the 68 Battalion's position, the most significant Borno engagement in several weeks.

6. EID AL-FITR

Eid al-Fitr fell on Friday, March 20, after Ramadan completed its full 30 days, with prayer grounds opening across Nigeria on a morning when petrol was N1,300 and 16 power plants remained offline.

7. THE TWO SIDES OF THE DEAL

Nigeria and the UK signed three migration MoUs during the state visit, including a joint organised immigration crime framework that strengthens UK deportation cooperation alongside the business visa expansion for British firms in Nigeria.
