THREE THINGS TO CARRY INTO THE WEEKEND
One. The US has 23 Nigerian states on its "Do Not Travel" list. Nigeria's government says the advisory is unbalanced. The attacks that triggered it happened this week. Both things are in the public record. Decide for yourself which map to trust when you're planning whether to travel home.
Two. Resident doctors suspended their strike on a government assurance. The deadline for that assurance to become action is April 21. Eleven days. If nothing has moved by then, NARD says another strike is unavoidable. Mark the date.
Three. UK visa fees went up this week. Canada's follow on April 30. If you're anywhere in an application process, the window to apply before the Canada increase closes in 20 days. Applications received before April 30 are processed under current fees. That's not nothing.
